Living the Dream

It's already been 8 months since I had a courage to take a leap of faith and follow my instinct. I've resigned from my full-time work without enough savings and definite plans. Most of the people around me were quite ambivalent with my decision. Some were happy that I'll be finally working on my dreams while most were scared of the uncertainty that I've brought myself into.

I admit that my transition wasn't that easy. I had episodes of confusion and depression which forced me to work on being spiritual. I started devoting more time with silence and active listening. I knew and felt that God was about to unfold his majestic plans for my life and all I needed was to be patient, entrust and surrender everything to him. Indeed, he always didn't failed to surprise me.

I sure did survived the past 8 months. It was a tough journey but I hold on to his promise andreminded myself that behind those struggles are beautiful rainbow. True enough, starting November abundant blessings started to overflows. From being a one man team for our company's marketing & sales, I got a volunteer Marketing Specialist (who also served as my mentor and brought more networks), one of my childhood friend  volunteered to revamp and manage our website, one of our marketing specialist friends who worked with prestigious brands help out to define our branding guidelines, and lastly, we got a graphics company to re-brand and design all our marketing collaterals. Truly, God really provides!

Then we won the BPI Sinag Accelerate 2016 and received Php 500k grant. By February, our pending company and product launch happened beyond our dream and expectations. We held it in a luxury hotel --Marco Polo Hotel and majority of it were all expense paid during the 2nd Philippine Sustainable Seafood Week. It was such a huge honor to be part of the advocacy together with major players in the fishing industry in our country. Our launch was an all-star event too because we were graced by inspiring guests, unwavering support from our partners and our fishers from 7 municipalities awere there too!!!

We were also privileged to establish partnership with Department of Agriculture which includes Bureau of Fisheries. We're about to seal a partnership with them real soon!!! Also, we were able to participate in the biggest culinary event in the world "Madrid Fusíon" last April and get institutional partnerships.

Amazingly, we were able to maintain and engage partnership with premium stores and ecommerce sites all over the country. Plus other incredible partners like Rare, DTI and many more. They totally rock our socks!!!! We had Chef Ambassadors too (some were the best and famous in the Philippines). Then starting next month some of our products will be included in the menu of Purple Yam, the famous Filipino Restaurant in New York, and they'll be bringing our products as well for the Department of Foreign Affairs Culinary Tour in North America by September to October. And there's another one that I'm working on in Europe!!! We are also fortunate that British Council funded our "Linked by the Sea" Awareness Campaign and our video/photo shoot! WOOHOOO!!! Our sea to table model happened as we dreamt of. Everything just fall into place! The best is yet to come :)

Moreover, from being broke who would have thought that my previous salary in my full-time work can be earn by my part time job and I'll be owning 2 more companies in the next few months!!! Looks like I'll  be hitting my financial goals too!! At the same time, I'm already doing my dream job!!! Plus more travel awaits me!!! My God is truly great indeed.

When I've listened to the song below, it made me reminisced (and cried a river) everything that happened for the past few months and realized how blessed I am. I'm forever grateful for every opportunity that was given to me and to all the people who didn't give up on me and supported me throughout my journey.

I'm still in awe and catching my breath to all the happenings. You are totally awesome,my God! I'm way too happy to figure out my passion and make a difference in a more sustainable way💖

Dreams do come true. Try. Don't give up. :) Check out the inspiring video below and make sure you have tissue when you watch it. :))
